About Us
Meet Ed & Kathryn Ross

Kathryn Ross is a professional storyteller creating original performance programming for schools, churches, libraries, elder care facilities, ladies'groups, and community groups at large.  Affectionately known as, Miss Kathy, families in the Southern New Jersey region look to her for reading recommendations and creative ways to promote literacy in their school age children.  Her various storytelling programs promote a love of books, reading, and learning, assisted by eclectic costuming with a vintage flare, a trunk full of props - and plenty of hats - for interactive storytelling audience participation.  Each program reflects the joy of life, beauty, and the highest in character virtues celebrated.

Miss Kathy is an experienced writer, speaker, and dramatist, in addition to many years teaching both adults and children through Principle Approach Education, the Foundation for American Christian Education.  She has experience in the public, private, Christian, and home school environment, tailoring her classical and original literature programs to her audiences.

Locally in South Jersey, Miss Kathy hosts Tale Spin Stories, a popular preschool story program at Center Court in the Cumberland Mall.  Miss Kathy is a monthly columnist for South Jersey MOM Magazine, writing monthly book reviews promoting family literacy.  She is the writer, director, and producer of Pageant Wagon Productions, LLC:  Old-Fashioned American Melodrama Summer Family Theatre, working with a dozen hand-picked Pageant Wagon Players each year, bringing the historic genre of melodrama theatre to life.  In addition, she serves on the board of directors as grant administrator and program facilitator for a local historic preservation group, the Friends of Historic Vineland, performing historical character re-enactments for community education and enrichment.

Ed Ross is "that bookstore guy" - the man to seek out for his literary expertise to advise children of all ages on the best reading available.  Over the years, he's delighted teachers and class trips with his Reading Railroad Tours through the bookstore - which, of course, included a couple of performance readings from the top picks in children's literature.

Serving churches and schools in the South Jersey region, Ed's alter ego, Clementine Jones, is his storytelling personae, a crusty old gold prospector digging for gold in God's Word - when he's ministering in churches - and digging for gold in gooood books - when he brings his Americana Tall Tales into the preschool and elementary classroom.  His Wild West themes and energetic delivery invite audience participation to delighted audiences at each performance.  He partners in these programs with wife, Kathryn, who takes on her own Western guise as Miss Wanda.

Currently, Ed is working on an inspirational program for men and boys, fathers and sons, about baseball and the life lessons the love of this sport can teach.  Through the metaphor of a ball game, Ed will challenge men to step up to the plate of life and hit a home run for home and family with wisdom to run the bases with no outs.  This program is expected to be ready by Spring 2009.

We are happy to serve you and your family through the power of story and the love of learning and literacy.

Our Mission as Literacy Enrichment Artists is to be salt and light in the earth, creatively communicating a love of learning, literature, art, and history, while inspiring children of all ages to joyfully live a literate lifestyle as a responsible, productive, citizen/servant in their community.
