About Us
Meet Ed & Kathryn Ross

Kathryn Ross is a full time professional storyteller creating original performance programming for schools, churches, libraries, elder care facilities, adult day care facilities, ladies'groups, community groups, and professional development worshops.  Affectionately known as, "Miss Kathy," families in the Southern New Jersey region look to her for reading recommendations and creative ways to promote literacy in their school age children.  Her various storytelling programs promote a love of books, reading, and learning, assisted by eclectic costuming with a vintage flare, a trunk full of props - and plenty of hats - for interactive storytelling audience participation.  Each program reflects the joy of life, beauty, and the highest in character virtues celebrated.

Miss Kathy is an experienced writer, speaker, and dramatist, in addition to many years teaching both adults and children through Principle Approach Education, the Foundation for American Christian Education.  She has experience in the public, private, Christian, and home school environment, tailoring her classical and original literature programs to her audiences.  Currently, Miss Kathy offers her expertise as a private tutor for students struggling with their writing skills.

Locally in South Jersey, Miss Kathy hosts Tale Spin Stories, a popular preschool story program at Center Court in the Cumberland Mall and is a member of the enrichment staff of the Vineland Public Charter School, developing and teaching their drama program (click the VPCS Drama Cats index button at left for more info), in addition to teaching her own fall anad spring semesters of drama classes for home school students (click Home School Theatre at left for more info).  Miss Kathy is a monthly columnist for South Jersey MOM Magazine, writing monthly book reviews promoting family literacy (click the South Jersey MOM index at the left for more info).

From 2005 through 2009 she was the writer, director, and producer of Pageant Wagon Productions Old-Fashioned American Melodrama Summer Family Theatre, working with a dozen hand-picked Pageant Wagon Players each year, bringing the historic genre of melodrama theatre to life. Click on the Melodrama indexes at left for more photo scrapbooks of all five productions!  The Pageant Wagon Players have moved on in their college and careers, so after five years it was time for fresh pathways in family theatre.  Beginning in 2010, Miss Kathy teams with the production staff of Calvary Chapel Vineland to pioneer a year round Drama Ministry, including the NEW Calvary Chapel Summer Theatre, continuing a tradition of family friendly entertainment in Cumberland County.

In addition, Miss Kathy serves on the Board of Directors as Grant Administrator and Program Facilitator for a local historic preservation group, the Friends of Historic Vineland (click on the index at left for more info), performing historical character re-enactments for community education and enrichment.

Ed Ross is "that bookstore guy" - a familiar face locally due to his 25 years as a career bookseller, currently working for Barnes and  Noble at Rowan University.  He has a reputation as the man to seek out for his literary expertise to advise children of all ages on the best reading available.  Over the years, he's delighted teachers and class trips with his Reading Railroad Tours through the bookstore - which, of course, included a couple of performance readings from the top picks in children's literature.

Since 1986, as his "day job" schedule permits, Ed has served churches and schools in the South Jersey region through his alter ego, Clementine Jones, his storytelling personae.   Clementine is a crusty old gold prospector digging for gold in God's Word - when he's ministering in churches - and digging for gold in gooood books - when he brings his Americana Tall Tales into the preschool and elementary classroom.  His Wild West themes and energetic delivery invite audience participation to the delight of all.  Kathryn sometimes joins him in these programs taking on her own Western guise as Miss Wanda.

Ed serves on the Board of Directors for the Friends of Historic Vineland, helping with the Founder's Day celebration each year by portraying the colorful Leverett Newcomb, Vineland philanthropist (pictured left).

Currently, Ed's work schedule does not allow him the opportunity to perform as often as he has in the past.  However, he is an ever present help in time of need to all things Pageant Wagon Productions and Miss Kathyfull time storytelling schedule, undergirding all things related to PWP with his unwavering support!

We are happy to serve you and your family through the power of story and the love of learning and literacy.
