Miss Kathy's Victorian Christmas

Miss Kathy kicked off the 2008 Christmas storytelling season at Tale Spin Stories with A Victorian Christmas. Youngsters and their parent/caretakers learned about the making and serving of England's traditional Plum Pudding, and the Christmas Eve visit of Father Christmas to the homes of good girls and boys. Mother and Father would light each individual candle on the tree - according to Prince Albert's German tradition - to the surprise and delight of happy children, while dreaming about the toys adorning each branch and which one might have their name on it! Don Daly's brilliantly illustrated "Twelve Days of Christmas" produced giggles all around as Miss Kathy sang the familiar verses, and a rousing game of "Hunt the Slipper" rounded out the festivities.
