Hats used to be designed for meticulous fitting on the human head. Here Miss Kathy demonstrates an unually shaped model from the early 1940's that is a beanie fitted to the crown of the head with a felt coronet jutting off the side embellished with ostrich plumes and held in place with elastic wrapped about a chignon hair-do in the back - a popular hair style of the period.
