Glorious March One and All!
MARCH MADNESS begins this month with production on two theatrical projects, in addition to a very busy schedule of storytelling and enrichment programs for children of all ages! MELODRAMA READ-THRU! The Pageant Wagon Players have waited all year for this month when the script for Melodrama 2009 (coming this July 30-31 and Augut 1) is finally delivered into their hands for pre-production work. Set in a vaudeville theatre in the late 1800's, the SHOWSTOPPERS AT STARR'S THEATRICAL EMPORIUM or "The Villain Vaudevillians" storyline nods playfully at some of the most memorable characters and schitck that has delighted Melodrama audiences the past four years as the Pageant Wagon Players celebrate five years of family friendly live theatre! We'll keep you updated on all the preparations for this not-to-be-missed theatrical event!
NEW! NEW! NEW! Veronica, our graphic artist Pageant Wagon Player, talented actress and gifted dancer, has gathered four years of PWPlayers and Melodrama rehearsals captured on film in production stills and video, and loaded it all onto an entertaining MYSPACE web page created just for the Pageant Wagon Players and their growing fanbase. Click on www.myspace.com/pageantwagonplayers to see slide-shows and videos, hear some of the music from past performances, and meet the Pageant Wagon Players up close and personal. Add yourself as a "friend" and stay in touch with PWPlayer adventures as we work towards opening night of Melodrama 2009!
PARABLE PLAYER'S HOME SCHOOL THEATRE! Servicing the large home school population in Southern New Jersey is front and center this semester with the Parable Player's Home School Theatre. March classes introduce our performance script and blocking rehearsals. On President's Day, the class was surprised by a visit from four Pageant Wagon Players who acted as guest teachers during the acting exercises and improvisation workshop time of the class. The twelve week course of study culminates in a performance for family and friends on April 20. Students learn about the history of drama, theatrical genres, and elements of the stage and acting techniques. Check in weekly onto the Home School Theatre page of our website for scrapbook photos of all the fun and theatre games! Interested in the next semester of home school theatre?
