The holiday spirit is alive and  you did an excellent job welcoming Santa to his seasonal home at Cumberland Mall!  Your event was very organized, prepared, and extremely creative . . . we especially loved the store tie-in with the 'Twelve Days of Christmas' song.  The audience was kept well entertained and energized throughout the duration of the show, as noted from the excitement on the children's faces.  Congratulations on a job well done!

Dear Miss Kathy - We all thoroughly enjoyed your magnificent presentation of the Victorian hats and memorabilia.  You enchanted us with anecdotes about the various items as you warmed to the subject with your enthusiasm and sweet personality.  Thank you from all our Red Hat ladies who were present that evening.

"The Exquisite Royals" Chapter

Good theatre in southern New Jersey?  Well, if you have to ask, you've been missing out on some great acting, writing, and producing right here in our own backyard.  The Pageant Wagon Productions' old-fashioned melodrama that we saw at the Chapel on Saturday, titled Mayhem at Montague Manor , was written and produced by Vineland's own Kathryn Ross, "Miss Kathy" of storytelling and book fair fame.  This is the fourth year Pageant Wagon Productions has staged a show, and Ross is already sketching out the troupe's fifth performance for the summer of 2009.  The group of actors and actresses known as the Pageant Wagon Players delivered Ross' words and staging with hilarity and drama.  Reading through their biographical sketches in the prograom, I noted that all these high school and college students have a list of other local performances they have starred in - high school and college plays, the Vineland Regional Dance Company, and previous Pageant Wagon melodramas.  This town is truly fortunate to have a thriving arts community that utilizes local talent and enriches those who watch.

Thank you for coordinating Cumberland Mall's weekly Tale Spin Story activity throught the past year.  Your extensive variety of story theme/special event days are so very creative.  Every week, the children are delighted by your special blend of stories, songs, and play a long fun!  You are a true pleasure to work with and are always cheerfully prepared for all our events, as noted by the excitement on the children's faces each and every week.  From a logistical and aesthetic viewpoint, we think you are doing a terrific job with our Kid's Club program and hope to continue our relationship going forward.

When you came most recently to our facility, I spoke with a resident who was very happy to have you here.  As she put it, you really bring the heart and the flavor of the holiday and home to us through your multi-faceted presentations.   I am so grateful that you are able to do that for people who often feel homesick and miss the special times they have always treasured.  Your work is so valuable!  Thank you!

Kudos for Tale Spin Story Time

If you have never been to the Cumberland Mall on a Tuesday morning you should definitely go.   Miss Kathy and Toby Talespinner are amazing.  Her stimulating program for preschoolers is a delightful introduction to literature for young children.  Her captivating stories and activities along with show and tell provide the children with essential skills they will need when they begin their formal education.  Miss Kathy not only enhances children's listening skills, she also includes hands-on activities each week to compliment the theme of her story time.  Every story is age appropriate and keeps even the toddlers who attend interested.  She always ends her story hour with a music parade to one of the participating stores at the mall for a snack.  All the children enjoy marching and making noise throughout the mall.  The Cumberland Mall should be very proud of this free community program and the work that Miss Kathy does.  Thank you, Cumberland Mall and Miss Kathy, for making Tuesdays so enjoyable for me and my grand-daughters.

Tea Time for Toddlers

Once again Miss Kathy, Toby Talespinner and the Cumberland Mall provided a most delightful day on Tuesday.  There was a Victorian Tea Party held for all the children who attend story time each week.  With her usual flair for telling stories, Miss Kathy had a tale to tell of a little Victorian Doll looking for the perfect gift to give her little girl owner.  The children were captivated as always.  When the story was over the children had their music parade as usual, only this time it wasn't to receive a snack.  It was to thank Auntie Anne's for providing the "tea" for the partpy.  Back to center court we strolled.  There we were invited to Miss Kathy's tea party complete with table linens, and china cups and saucers.  Beautiful tea pots adorned the tables, too.  It was such a pleasure to see such well behaved children waiting for their cue to begin their snack.  Not one child touched a cup or cookie until they were invited to do so.  What wonderful manners these little children had.  Their parents should be very proud of the job they are doing rearing their children.  I applaud Miss Kathy's knack for having the appropriate story and props week after week.  Thank you to Miss Kathy.  Not only does she entertain children but she also exposes them to so many diverse cultural experiences.  Tuesdays are very special days for my granddaughters and me because of Kathy Ross.

Dear Kathryn,

Where do I begin to thank you for your wonderful presentation?  Your Christmas Carol program was the perfect conclusion to our monoth long unit on the Dicken's novel.  Your dramatization was colorful and engaging and helped to bring the traditions and customs of Queen Victoria's England alive for our 21st Century students.  The gifts, confections, plum pudding, decorations, and your elegant costume also brought a realistic touch to your program.  Just as the Victorians enjoyed their traditions, Woodland eighth graders will enjoy their new traditions - your program - for years to come.  Merry Christmas.

Cosmo Terrigno, Headmaster, Woodland Country Day School

The Literacy Night was truly magical.  I have never seen students and parents laugh so much!!  You really showed them books can be fun.  Your message about reading qualiaty literature was so needed in today's society.

Lori Jorgenson, PTF President, Bridgeton Christian School

You provided such a wonderful program for the Salem Adult Day clients - they just loved having you . . . I will spread the word about "Miss Kathy."

Thank you for coming and telling your story about hats at our Mother and Child Banquet . . . you did make a beautiful entrance with your elegant gown and hat.  Our members enjoyed your presentation.  It will be a Mother and Child Bangquet that will be saved in our memories as a beautiful time.

Betty Richards

Your heart for inspiring everyone to enjoy good literature was evident . . . Thank you for your on-site interactions with the children; your energetic "stage-style" performance during the Literacy Alive Family Night captured everyone's attention.  It was extraordinary.

Judy Davis, Library Director, Cumberland Christian School

Dear Kathy and Ed,

Thank you for hosting Cumberland Mall's three Summer Reading Events this season . . . You both did an exceptional job in the creation and implementation of our events, including Extreme Pet Care with Clementine and Wanda, Animal Lovers Career Expo, and Imaginary Pet Parade, as well as the Pet Poetry Slam Journal.  The Journal is a true classic, showcases the talent of the children, and is a great keepsake.  This summer at Cumberland Mall was more exciting than ever!  The children learned all about proper care, training and grooming of animals in a fun, interactive way and were very attentive throughout each event.  The programs were very well put together and as always, you both are a true pleasure to work with!

Maria Umbriac, Marketing Director; Donna Longo, CSM, General Manager, Cumberland Mall, Vineland

Many thanks for the wonderful program you hosted in celebration of our Summer Reading Program.  You were great with the children and I thoroughly enjoyed your stories.

Denise Saia, Director, Franklin Township Public Library

I enthusiastically recommend the ministry of Ed and Kathryn Ross.  During our 2006 Vacation Bible School, Mr. and Mrs. Ross created and executed a week-long program that was equally enjoyed by children and adults.  Their presentation was professional, personal, and Biblical.  And their spirit of cooperation and joy made them truly wonderful to work with.  On closing night, one boy who had the opportunity to attend a Phillies baseball game chose instead to come and watch the Ross characters, Clementine Jones and Miss Wanda.  And it appeared as though many of the adults in attendance that night would have made similar decisions.  We will certainly have Ed and kathryn Ross back at our church again.

Gary Holden, Senior Pastor, Trinity Bible Church

Thank you for the wonderful program you presented at our tea at the library.   Everyone remarked how much they enjoyed you and always with rave reviews.

Barbara Morrow, Millville Woman's Club

The reviews are in and everyone is raving . . . "drama," "humor," "good clean fun," "Miss Kathy has it all."  Thank you again for a very entertaining and fun afternoon.  Your performance was delightful!  We all look foward to seeing you again soon.
